Hello! My name is Allie Bates and I was born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri. I spent my college years at The University of Central Missouri majoring in Public Relations and cheering on our Mules and Jennies on the sidelines with the UCM Dance Team. I met my husband, Brett, in 2010 and we got married in September of 2013 in Kansas City where we currently live. We got pregnant with our (surprise!) identical twin boys, Brody and Beckham, and they decided they must kick off the new year right by gracing us with their presence on January 1st, 2015.
Hi! My name is Amanda Besler. I was born and raised in Kansas City. I went to college down the road at the University of Kansas where I was a track and cross country athlete. My husband and I got married in 2013 and we live in Kansas City where he plays for Sporting Kansas City. I stay at home with our two girls — Parker (almost 4) and Marin (almost 2). We are surrounded in Kansas City with lots of family (that help us out a lot) and friends (who keep us sane, especially those SAHM friends!). We enjoy being outside with loved ones. Today I am going to share with you some of my favorite products and mama hacks.
Creating a healthier, less toxic home can seem daunting. I get it, there are so many resources and products out there shouting down at you. I truly believe the best way to start is to just jump in and select a few ways you believe you can consistently make a difference in your home. Don’t feel pressured to do all these things at once. I personally ditched the all-or-nothing mindset and just embraced that I’m doing my best to create a greener home. I’ve been doing this now for almost three years and I can tell you it’s an ever-evolving journey — you live and you learn.
I am so excited to kick-off the Meet a Mama Series this week. First up is a good friend of mine. Like me, she’s moved around quite a bit the last few years and has raised her little one away from her hometown/family. We met in college and have been friends ever since. I knew when I started this series she’d be one of the first moms I’d feature!
Hey y’all. I feel like it’s been a hot second since I’ve written anything on here. The last blog post I published was in early April. Since then, Logan celebrated her first birthday and as she’s entering toddlerhood, I’ve been connecting with my mom friends and asking them loads of questions. Most of the things we received on our registry are no longer being used – swings, jumpers, etc. so now it’s time to step up my game with toys to keep her active little mind entertained.
This post is #sponsored by Kabrita USA but these words are my own! I give my true and honest opinion of the product. Logan has been supplementing with Kabrita goat milk formula for many many months prior to this partnership. We love working with brands we know and trust.
So here we are. I’m almost 9 months postpartum. Right after Logan was born, I was very adamant about doing postpartum PT for diastasis recti and pelvic floor health. I had a long labor with Logan and knew that all of this would be really important longterm because of how active I am.
Let me kick this off by saying FED IS BEST. It doesn’t matter HOW a babe is fed. A full baby is a happy baby and that is ALL that matters. You’re doing great mama.
For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been working with Kelley from Serenity Sleepers for the last month to get Logan better rest. She previously was micro-napping (20-30min naps) and wasn’t sleeping through the night. Desperate for sleep myself, we contacted Kelley and got started right away.
I seriously cannot believe that Logan is five months. It’s totally true what they say, “the days are long but the months go by fast.” She’s getting to be such a big girl but let me tell ya, we are feeling the four-month sleep regression HARD right about now.
