My first charity workout event was a huge success. After spending the last year networking with studio and gym owners and really building those relationships, I wanted 2016 to be about giving back. I celebrated my blogs first birthday in February so it was perfect timing to kick things off.

Winter is freaking frigid and a lot of people decide to hibernate. I don’t blame them. If you’re staying indoors you might as well cozy up with these 6 items that promote healthy living + positive lifestyle.
I did it! 365 days of blogging. Last February, I decided to embark on this journey and I am so glad that I did. There are so many things about this process that make it meaningful and rewarding for me. It has been so great to connect, learn, grow and share through What the Fartlek.
I was chatting with Jon Knopke the founder of Health House a few weeks ago and he was curious how many miles I log a week in conjunction to all the classes I take. He mostly asked because he was curious how my knees and other joints feel after pounding the pavement. My knees do take a beating but I think I’ve stayed injury free because of my cross-training schedule. (Thanks ClassPass!)
I have some exciting fitness news to share. 12 months, 130+ classes and 5 half marathons later, I can finally announce that I am officially a ClassPass Ambassador. And no, being an Ambassador doesn’t mean a free ride. I still pay my monthly membership because let’s be honest, it is the best fitness investment I can make. (Check out the official announcement on their blog!)
If you missed it, the BF and I got engaged last June. I am SO stoked to marry this dude. Because of our crazy schedules the only month we can get married is December. As much as I love Kansas City, I’ve never pictured myself as a winter bride so we decided to have the wedding in Palm Springs, California. We both love to travel so we wanted the wedding to have that destination feel for both parties. We currently live in a mid-century modern home so Palm Springs is a natural fit. The Big Day is late December 2016.
