I had so much fun at my first charity workout event that I decided to plan another. Last weekend, I teamed up with MOJO Cycling Studio on the Country Club Plaza to host a Charity Glow Ride for the Victory Project. (Glow sticks were in the house!)
Organizing these events are so much fun for me. I love seeing new names pop up on the RSVP list. Yes it is great having friends and family support but new faces are what I get really excited about. I dig meeting like minded people, especially when we’re coming together for a good cause. Even more so, I like expanding peoples outlook on fitness. Many of the attendees on Saturday had never been to MOJO before!
Katie McNeil kicked things off and was the instructor for the charity glow ride. She played some awesome EDM music + epic throwbacks. She did a great job planning class knowing that a lot of new people would be in the room. We got so freaking sweaty!
Per usual, the charity ride was donation based. Anyone who donated was given raffle tickets for a chance to win some of our baller door prizes from Athleta, Lake Candles, Kendra Scott, Sporting KC & No Other Pub. Post ride we convened in the lobby to announce winners and enjoy juice + snacks from Simple Science Juices. A big congrats to them for opening a new location in the Crossroads.
We raised almost $700 for the kiddos. Big shouts to all who attended, donated and put in work for a great cause! You guys rock.
Sad to miss this one? Don’t worry, Yoga on the Pitch is Wednesday, June 8 at 7pm. Join me and other yogis for sunset yoga on the Sporting KC field. Wendy Zoog & Brad Elpers will be leading our practice and DJ Aston Martin will be providing the beats. Proceeds benefit the Victory Project!
I’m looking forward to my next charity workout event. Look out for future invites on my Insta, @wtfartlek. If there is a specific studio you’d like me to team up with next, give me a shout in the comment section below!
