Our Palm Springs Wedding

Oh YAS, the ACE Hotel. The perfect spot for our Palm Springs wedding. Chance and I both dig succulents, color, bold patterns and mid-century modern design so P.S. was a no brainer. Still within the U.S. but gives you that vacay vibe — snow on the mountain tops but desert terrain below. We truly wanted this special weekend of ours to be our guests mini-getaway.

The Magic Moment

dec3017-576

An intimate affair, we had just about 120 guests (plus some kiddos) attend. The goal was for our guests to feel the style of our wedding the moment they walked through the door. We tried to set the tempo with our unique poster-size wedding invitations and keep the pace with out-of-the-box touch points such as our ceremony teepee made of King Protea, tallboys during the ceremony, wooden longboard guestbook, caricature artist during cocktail hour, music videos on the dance floor, and churros + LED foam sticks late night. Our Dj was stellar but I did take tons of time to curate our wedding soundtrack. During dinner we surprised guests with some of their first dance songs to get all nostalgic.

The ACE hotel itself really already embodied our style but the venue was a blank slate, it allowed  me and my awesome team of venders to get creative and bring my vision to life. I love multicolor so really the bread and butter was black and white. Black on the groomsman and bridesmaids allowed for contrast for adventurous flowers. Even though this was a destination wedding, we tried to keep hints of Kansas City alive throughout (see if you can spot ’em). Most of our favorite nights are spent with our friends + family at our house by the pool with the fire pit going so naturally our wedding night was not much different.
