Hopefully, you’re reading this because you realize self-care is important. As a new mama, it can be hard to make time for myself but I realize that when I do invest in myself, I’m a better human overall. I’m able to show up as my best self and be more present. Of course, I love self-care in the form of manicures and facials but I’m always on the lookout for natural ways to cultivate healthy habits. Especially if they keep me well, happy and thriving. The below rituals aren’t new by any means, actually, some of them are gaining in popularity but I thought it would be fun to roundup some of my favorites to share with ya’ll.
After nearly three years of blogging and doing this whole Instagram thing, I find it so important now to connect with people in real life. Sure it’s great to link up and chat online but it really doesn’t get much better than spending time face to face. Good old fashioned bonding, friendship and community.
It was spring of 2016. The previous fall, I had beaten my half marathon PR and was determined to do it again. As a runner, I was always determined to get better, faster and stronger. When we’re not on the road or traveling, we have the luxury of space, storage, and a kitchen so we naturally like to stock up on groceries to make mealtime easy. We prefer to shop at Costco and do a haul every two weeks to ensure that there are enough healthy choices to whip up so we aren’t tempted to eat out.

Okay, I totally get it. Going to a new studio can be really intimidating. Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of newbie appearances. Since joining ClassPass, I’ve attended over 300 classes at boutique fitness studios across the country. Through CP, I’ve discovered classes and instructors that I love and I’ve even made IRL friends so trust me when I say the juice is worth the squeeze. There are several studies out there linking chronic stress to inflammation and disease. Essentially, stress is associated with just about every modern disease you can name. Cardiovascular disease, cancer, autoimmune conditions, depression and gastrointestinal problems to name a few. Knowing this should be enough to make stress management an important part of our daily routine. While we may not be able to avoid stress, we can certainly influence how it affects us.
By now you should know that I LOVE trying new workouts. My goal is to expand people’s perceptions of “fitness” so that they can discover a plethora of ways to break a sweat. Seriously, there are so many options out there these days.
