Living the sweaty life (February recap)

If you’ve been following my blog or you’re a close friend of mine, you know that I am addicted to ClassPass and that I am training for a few half marathons this spring. Simply Sabrina posted a super cool recap on her blog and it inspired me to share mine with you all.

F is for Floating KC

@yogawithpaige recommended that I pay a visit to Floating KC for zero gravity flotation therapy. Float therapy or an isolation tank, is a lightless, soundproof tank filled with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. “Floaters” typically float inside the tank for an hour. Floating has actually been around for 60 years but has recently grown in popularity.

How I cross-train with ClassPass

I was chatting with Jon Knopke the founder of Health House a few weeks ago and he was curious how many miles I log a week in conjunction to all the classes I take. He mostly asked because he was curious how my knees and other joints feel after pounding the pavement. My knees do take a beating but I think I’ve stayed injury free because of my cross-training schedule. (Thanks ClassPass!)

Sweating for the wedding + BRIDE.

If you missed it, the BF and I got engaged last June. I am SO stoked to marry this dude. Because of our crazy schedules the only month we can get married is December. As much as I love Kansas City, I’ve never pictured myself as a winter bride so we decided to have the wedding in Palm Springs, California. We both love to travel so we wanted the wedding to have that destination feel for both parties. We currently live in a mid-century modern home so Palm Springs is a natural fit. The Big Day is late December 2016.

Get sweaty with my Yoga Playlist

Playlists fascinate me. I obsess over them! Music is a big part of what makes me tick. Playlists are personal and reflective of the person who makes them. I tend to gravitate towards high energy songs or indie tracks. If I’ve had a long day at work or need to unwind, I like to spend time with my mat and blast this playlist on shuffle. I tend to practice in the p.m. so this works great. I flow without rhyme or reason and work on things I want to achieve. I usually get some pretty good puppy love too!

S is for SMT Teatox Co. (SkinnyMe Tea)

Per usual, I found this teatox on Instagram via a few lifestyle bloggers that I follow. (I consider myself a tea connoisseur so you can imagine the excitement.) If juicing isn’t for you, this is a different way to detox. As with any detox, you should proceed with caution and do your research – not all are created equal!
